I tested WorkSaga for two weeks of daily journaling against a software engineer's day-to-day. The journaling itself was the friction point — even at 5 minutes per entry, sustaining a habit is hard, and the platform could do more to make logging feel rewarding rather than chore-like. Once I had two weeks of entries, the skill extraction was actually impressive: the AI surfaced patterns I had not noticed (I had spent 40% of one week on infrastructure work that I would have under-credited if asked). The CV generation took the journal data and produced a tight, project-grounded resume that read better than my hand-edited version. The review-coach simulation was useful for practicing tone but felt slightly canned. For engineers who want to own their career narrative and have something to point to in performance reviews, WorkSaga is worth the daily friction. For users who already journal in another tool, the value-add is smaller.
