Stable Audio

Unlike earlier AI music generators that produced short, repetitive clips, Stable Audio 2.5 generates up to 190 seconds (over 3 minutes) of audio in a single generation enough for a complete song section or extended ambient track.

The model is trained on fully licensed datasets, making its outputs commercially safe for use in productions without copyright concerns from training data. The platform runs at stableaudio.com and also exposes an API for enterprise and developer integration.

Stable Audio 2.5 introduced an 8-step generation process (down from the 50 steps required in version 2.0), dramatically accelerating output speed tracks up to 3 minutes generate in under 2 seconds on H100 GPUs.

The model excels at atmospheric, ambient, and cinematic audio: soundscapes, film score textures, lo-fi backgrounds, electronic builds, and textural sound design.

Enterprise features include audio inpainting (modifying specific sections of an existing audio track) and fine-tuning on an organization's own audio dataset allowing brands or studios to build a custom audio generation model trained on their specific sonic style.

Stable Audio is accessible via the web app at stableaudio.com with a free tier and paid plans for higher generation limits and commercial licensing. The underlying model (Stable Audio Open 1.0) is also available on Hugging Face for research use under a non-commercial license.
