Magnific AI is a generative image upscaler and enhancer that uses proprietary deep-learning models to increase image resolution up to 16x while adding realistic texture, lighting, and artistic detail in the process. Unlike traditional upscalers that simply interpolate pixels, Magnific actively reimagines and enhances the image based on the content and a user-provided creative prompt.
The platform's Creativity slider gives users precise control over how much the AI interprets and adds to the original image versus faithfully reproducing it. This means photographers can opt for minimal enhancement while digital artists can push the AI to add elaborate detail and texture transformations that dramatically elevate the source image.
Magnific introduced a Precision mode in 2025 specifically for photographers who need accurate, faithful upscaling rather than creative embellishment. While currently limited to 2x upscaling, Precision mode addresses a key pain point for professional photographers who previously found Magnific's hallucination-prone outputs too aggressive for client work.
Additional tools include a Skin Enhancer for improving portrait lighting, color grading, and surface detail, as well as inpainting capabilities for rebuilding low-quality or missing sections of images. Token consumption scales with output resolution a standard 2x upscale costs around 5 tokens, while a 4x upscale of the same image costs approximately 20 tokens.
