I run Duckie on a side project's repo for a week as a stress test — a small Django + React app, about 8K lines. Where it earned points: the planner-coder-reviewer split actually worked. The reviewer agent caught two issues the coder missed (a missing migration and an N+1 query) before the diff ever reached me. Where it lost points: the agents got stuck in a refactor loop on a complex serializer change, paraphrasing each other's edits without converging. For solo developers and small teams who want acceleration without giving up review control, this is in the upper tier of agentic coding tools. For teams looking to fully autonomously ship features, the technology is not there yet — at any vendor, including Devin. Treat Duckie as a force multiplier on a 1-3 person engineering team, not a replacement.
