An AI-powered universal search tool from Dropbox that connects across your work apps to surface files, answers, and summaries from one search bar instead of switching between tools.

Dropbox Dash is a universal AI search product that indexes connected work applications and lets users find files, messages, documents, and answers through a single search interface.
It connects to tools including Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, Notion, OneDrive, Salesforce, Asana, Trello, and Dropbox itself, pulling results from all of them simultaneously rather than requiring users to remember which app holds which piece of information.
Beyond search, Dash uses AI to summarize documents and threads, compare sources, and suggest follow-up actions without the user leaving the search interface.
The core use case is reducing context-switching for knowledge workers who use five or more connected tools daily. Information workers spend significant time re-finding documents they have seen before but cannot remember the exact location of.
Dash solves this by maintaining a continuously updated index across all connected apps. Teams use the Stacks feature to create shareable collections of related links and documents, functioning as curated workspaces that can be handed off between team members without sending lists of links through Slack.
Compared to Glean and Notion AI, the two most frequently evaluated alternatives, Dash occupies the accessible middle ground.
Glean is the enterprise-grade AI search platform with the deepest indexing and most powerful agent capabilities, but it requires significant operational investment: most deployments involve one to two dedicated staff for connector maintenance and permissions synchronization.
Notion AI builds search into an existing project management and wiki platform, which is ideal for teams already living in Notion but limited for those who are not.
