Rather than writing SQL queries manually, users ask questions in plain English 'What were our top five products by revenue last quarter?' and DataLine generates and executes the appropriate query, returning results as data tables, charts, or visualizations.

Data source connectivity is broad. DataLine supports direct connections to PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Server, and Snowflake databases, as well as file-based data sources including SQLite, CSV, and Excel files.

This range of supported connectors means the tool works for both structured database environments and simpler file-based data analysis without requiring data to be migrated to a specific platform first.

Privacy protection is a design principle that distinguishes DataLine from cloud-based alternatives. All data is stored and processed locally on the user's device, and sensitive data is hidden from the LLMs used to generate queries by default.
